The 90-Day Report in Thailand: How to File TM.47 Without a Fine
A foreigner living in Thailand on a long-term visa for 90 days in a row has to tell immigration their address. That is the 90-day report, form TM.47. It is free, you can file it online or in person, and it takes 10 minutes. Missing it costs 2,000 baht. If your student visa came through us, you can forget about it: the extension every 90 days resets the count, and we track the dates for you.

Who has to report
The report is for holders of long-term visas - retirement, marriage, work, DTV - who have spent 90 days in the country without leaving.
You do not need to report if:
- you left Thailand before day 90: after you come back, the count starts again;
- you extended your stay during those 90 days: an extension resets the counter. Our students extend every 90 days, so they never file a separate report;
- you hold an LTR: your address is confirmed once a year.

When to file
| How | When |
|---|---|
| At immigration | From 15 days before the date until 7 days after |
| Online | 15 days before the date, so you still have time to come in person if it is rejected |
The count runs from your date of entry or your last report. The date of your next report is printed on the receipt stapled into your passport - photograph it straight away.
Filing online
- Open the official site at tm47.immigration.go.th.
- Enter your passport details, your address and the date of your last entry.
- Wait for the confirmation by email - the check takes a few days.
- Save and print the confirmation.
File your first report, and the first one after you come back on a re-entry permit, in person: that way it goes through the first time. The ones after that you can do online from home.
Filing at Phuket Immigration
The office is in Phuket Town at 482 Phuket Road, open weekdays from 8:30 to 16:30. Bring:
- your passport;
- a completed TM.47 form;
- copies of your photo page, your visa and your last entry stamp;
- the receipt from your previous report, if you have one;
- your TM.30 receipt.
Reports have their own window, and the line there is shorter than the one for extensions. How to get through the office quickly is in Phuket Immigration office.

What happens if you miss it
- You come in late yourself: a 2,000 baht fine.
- A check finds it: a fine of up to 5,000 baht and a record in the database that the officer will see at your next extension.
A missed report does not cancel your visa, but it spoils your history. It is easier not to miss it.
TM.47 and TM.30 are different forms
TM.30 is the registration of your address, filed by your landlord or your hotel when you move in. TM.47 is your own report every 90 days. Without a current TM.30 your report will not be accepted, so after a move, update the registration first.
Landlord not willing to deal with it? We file TM.30 for 800 ฿.
