The Elite Visa in Thailand: Thailand Privilege Prices and Packages in 2026

The elite visa is a paid Thailand Privilege membership that gives you a visa for 5 to 20 years with no requirements on age, income or money in the bank. Entry starts at 900,000 baht for the five-year Gold package: Bronze, at 650,000 baht, closed on 30 September 2026. It is a sound option if you are certain you are staying in Thailand for years. If you are only moving over, start with a student visa - per year it is four times cheaper.

What Thailand Privilege is

The program launched in 2003 as Thailand Elite and was renamed in 2023. It is run by the state-owned Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. One payment gives you:

  • a multiple-entry visa for the whole length of the membership;
  • airport greeting and fast-track immigration, in Phuket as well;
  • help with 90-day reports and extending your stamp;
  • concierge services and partner discounts, depending on the package.

You cannot work on this visa.

Pros and cons

The pros:

  • no requirements on age, income or bank balance;
  • one payment for years ahead, with no annual extensions and bank statements;
  • VIP service at the airport.

The cons:

  • 900,000 baht up front;
  • the money is not refundable - it is not a deposit;
  • you cannot work;
  • the application is reviewed over several weeks and membership can be refused.

Who it pays off for

Thailand Privilege pays for itself if you are certain you will live in Thailand for five years or more, you fly often, and you do not want to freeze 800,000 baht for a retirement visa - or you are under 50.

If you are planning a year or two, or still working out whether Phuket suits you, there is no sense in handing over 900,000 baht at the start.

A student visa is almost four times cheaper than Gold. Plenty of people live in Phuket on one for a year or two and only then decide whether they need a five-year visa. The comparison with every long-term route is in long-term visa in Thailand.

Summary

Thailand Privilege gives you a visa for 5 to 20 years with no requirements on income or age, but it starts at 900,000 baht, which is 150,000 to 250,000 baht a year, none of it refundable. It is worth it for people who are certainly staying and who fly a great deal. If you are only moving over, start with a student visa at 47,400 ฿ a year and decide once you know the island. The prices of all four of our packages are under prices.
