How Much Does an ED Visa Cost in Thailand? The Full 2026 Breakdown
A Thai student visa (Non-Immigrant ED) in Phuket costs from 27,200 ฿ for six months with us. That figure already includes the school, the paperwork, the immigration fee and every 90-day extension. Below is where the money goes, what you pay separately, and how to compare offers so the cheap one does not catch up with you at your second immigration visit.

Most people choose the first option: six months of legal stay without a single visa run. The one-year package is cheaper per month: about 3,950 ฿ versus 4,530 ฿ on the six-month plan.

What the price includes
All-inclusive means that once you have paid at the school, you will not be asked for more money for the visa itself. The package covers:
- enrolment at a licensed language school;
- document checks and preparation for immigration;
- the 13,000 ฿ immigration fee for the visa;
- every 90-day extension (6,000 ฿ each, already counted in);
- support in 18 languages for the whole life of your visa.
There is no deposit, no booking fee and no online prepayment. You pay cash at the school, on the day you visit, and only after we have checked your documents. The money goes to the school, not to a middleman.
What you pay separately
Some services only some people need. We do not hide them in the package; we list them up front:

Leaving Thailand without a re-entry permit cancels your visa. It is the rule people who do it themselves forget most often.
Why cheap offers end up costing more
Forums are full of cheaper ED visas. The difference usually hides in three places:
- Extensions are not included. Every 90 days you need a new school letter and an immigration visit. Paid separately each time, the cheap visa costs more than ours by the end of the year.
- The school may not last as long as your visa. Thai immigration ran a large audit of student visas in 2025-2026; in August 2025 about 10,000 students lost their permission to stay. New, untested schools lose the right to issue letters, and their students' visas go with them.
- Support ends when you pay. Questions at immigration, a short stamp, a trip abroad: you are on your own.

How it compares with other ways to stay
Since 15 September 2026, visa-free stays for most nationalities have been cut to 30 days. You can extend once for 30 days for 1,900 ฿, and that is the ceiling. After that you are back to visa runs, and it is worth counting them in money:

The ED visa needs no bank statements and no proof of income. Among long-term visas, it is the one where the package price is the whole financial requirement.
How long it takes
Two visits before the visa, and about a month in total:
- Day 1, at the school. Bring your passport and TM.30. We check your documents and you pay.
- About two weeks later, immigration. You hand over your passport; the 13,000 ฿ fee comes out of the package. The visit takes about 10 minutes.
- About four weeks in. You collect your passport at immigration.

Summary

Compare offers by the total for the whole term, not by the first payment: extensions are exactly where cheap deals catch up with proper ones and overtake them.
