What can be extended, and for how long
| Basis of stay | Extension | Government fee |
|---|---|---|
| 30-day visa exemption (entry from 15 Sep 2026) | +30 days, once | 1,900 ฿ |
| 60-day visa exemption (entry before 15 Sep 2026) | at the officer's discretion | 1,900 ฿ |
| Tourist visa (TR), 60 days | +30 days, once | 1,900 ฿ |
| METV | +30 days per entry | 1,900 ฿ |
| Student visa (ED) | 90 days at a time, up to one year | included in our visa price |
An extension is not a right; it is the officer's decision. If your passport shows several visa-free stays in a row, you may be refused or asked how you support yourself.

Documents
- passport, plus copies of the photo page, your latest entry stamp and your TDAC, each signed in blue ink;
- TM.7 form, completed in English;
- one 4×6 cm photo;
- TM.30 receipt showing your registered address;
- 1,900 ฿ in cash; cards are not accepted.
Sometimes officers ask for a rental contract or hotel booking and a map marking where you live. Bring printouts.
Where and when
Phuket Immigration Office: 482 Phuket Road, Talat Yai, Phuket Town. It is the only office on the island that processes visa extensions. Open Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 16:30; closed on weekends and Thai public holidays.
How to save time:
- arrive by 8:00-8:15; queue numbers for extensions usually stop around 15:00;
- Tuesday to Thursday is best; Mondays and days after holidays are worst;
- in high season (November to March), waits are 30-60% longer;
- dress modestly: no beachwear, tank tops or very short shorts.

If you would rather skip the queue mistakes
We extend your stamp end to end for 4,500 ฿, government fee included. We check your documents, fill in the TM.7, verify your TM.30 registration and tell you which day to go. You simply turn up with a ready file.
The most common reason for refusal is a missing TM.30. By law your landlord or hotel must register you, but many do not. We file TM.30 for 800 ฿.

When an extension is not enough
A visa exemption plus extension gives you 60 days at most; a tourist visa, 90. If you are staying in Phuket longer, there are two routes:
- A visa run. Leave and come back in. Every trip costs money and carries a risk of refusal at the border.
- A long-term visa. The most accessible is the student visa: from 27,200 ฿ for six months with every extension included, no bank statements, no proof of income.
People often combine the two: first we extend the visa exemption by 30 days to buy time, then process the student visa. You need at least 15 days left on your stamp at the first ED visa immigration visit.
Summary
Visa-exempt stays and tourist visas in Phuket are extended by 30 days for 1,900 ฿ at the immigration office in Phuket Town. You need your passport with copies, TM.7, a photo and TM.30; without the registration, your file will not be accepted. Go at opening time, Tuesday to Thursday. If you plan to stay more than two or three months, use the extension as a buffer for a long-term visa, not as one more month before the next visa run.
Send us your entry date on WhatsApp. Within 5 minutes we will tell you what makes more sense in your case: an extension, a student visa, or both.
